Book Excerpt: from pages 64-66 of Dressing Tips and Clothing Resources for Making Life Easier

General Information About The Resources

Each of the catalog companies listed in this book carries a variety of products to make dressing easier. It would be impossible to list every item a company sells, not only because of the number of items, but also because product lines change as new items are developed and as customer needs change.

Dressing Tips and Catalog Resources for Making Life Easier helps you locate fashionable, ready-to-wear clothing and hundreds of useful and often hard-to-find adaptive devices designed to make dressing easier, safer and less frustrating.

Each of the companies listed in this book carries a variety of regular and adapted clothing and dressing accessories. In general, adapted garments are designed to make them easier to put on and take off. Adapted clothes are available with special closures like Velcro(tm) or snap closures, with specially placed openings, with elasticized waistbands, or all-over special designs like wrap-around and drop-front garments.

In the resource section, each company has its own chart that provides address and product information. Every item a company offers is not listed, but the general types of products offered are. Product categories include dresses, outerwear, footwear, accessories, etc. Check the list on the following two pages to find the kinds of items that are included in each category on the resource charts.

Also, each chart lists the company's target audience—men, women, children and/or wheelchair users. You'll also find information on if the company offers a catalog and how to obtain it.
